Liz McCarthy, ABW CEO, takes us through her top tips to switch up your beauty routine for the new season...

Autumn is the perfect time to switch up your beauty routine and start to prep for winter. Products I love for this season are all about sloughing off the skin cells that have been damaged by the heat and humidity of summer, and switch to those that start to focus on repair, hydration and care. Here’s my five beauty must haves to take skin from Summer into Autumn.

  1. NEW Dahliana 30 Second Rescue Peel

Just launched this month, the Dahliana 30 second rescue peel is the perfect product for Autumn. This intensive flash peel is brilliant, and the perfect natural alternative to chemical peels. It’s organic and vegan, oh so effective, and quick! This new breed of superfood peel uses natural acids to gently exfoliate the skin. I like to use this as a once a week treatment (usually it’s a Sunday night thing). First cleanse skin as normal, then apply a 10p sized amount evenly across your face. Leave for up to one minute, then rinse. It contains coconut, sprirulina, peppermint and vanilla so it’s smells amazing! My skin is left feeling super soft and smooth, pores smaller, and dry summer skin a distant memory. It leaves the perfect base to add some really lovely hydrating products.

  1. BRAD Essential Elixir Hydrating

As the weather starts to get a bit colder, skin will need more nourishment and hydration. Serums are perfect for this. But it’s important to find the right serum for you. For me, my skin needs hydration but in a light easily absorbed way as my skin can be prone to the odd breakout. That’s why I love BRAD Essential Elixir Hydrating Serum. It’s packed full of hyaluronic acid that both hydrates the surface of the skin, while drawing moisture and active ingredients down to the lower layers. In Autumn and throughout winter I’ll use this morning and night under my day and night creams.

  1. Indie Lee Calendula Eye Balm

It’s important to pay special attention to the eye area during the winter months. I like to switch up to a slightly richer balm. This Indie Lee Calendula Eye Balm is my fave as it uses Calendula which is a high powered antioxidant and anti-inflammatory to calm and protect the skin, coupled with mango seed to help reduce dark circles. I like to warm it a little in my hand first then apply with my forth finger from the outside in. I put a little more on overnight and wake up looking all fresh and perky (even if it is starting to get dark outside)

  1. The Body Deli Crème de la Rose

This is my go-to A/W day cream. It’s made by hand in Palm Dessert just outside LA. Every batch takes over 24 hours to make, and is hand blended for three hours! This is the perfect post summer pick my up for skin as it restores skins elasticity and speeds up cellular turnover. The Body Deli are pioneers in Raw Beauty, and this product has superfoods including Goja Berry, Macadamia Nut Oil, plus Bulgarian Rose. It really is awesome.

  1. Josh Rosebrook Hydrating Accelerator

As Autumn kicks in it also means I’m on the go a lot. I'm lucky enough that my job means I fly around the world sourcing new products, and attending Fashion Weeks, but it does mean I need something to top up the hydration throughout the day and on long flights. The Josh Rosebrook Hydrating Accelerator goes with me everywhere! It’s a vitamin infused water has aloe water, botanical extracts, essential oil, active antioxidants and vital vitamins, which my skin can’t get enough of. Be warned it’s very addictive, and the perfect product to take skin from the heat of summer into the nourishment needed in Autumn.

Happy new season all,

Liz
